the felicia i have has got central locking which works on the doors but not the tailgate is this normal or should i look for a fault the boot release switch doesnt work could this be related im looking at fitting a universal remote system on it cheers nigel.

thats normal you open it from in side you can buy the part that makes it work with C/L from skoda got part number some where but i did not think its worth getting it

it should open buy the lever its cable operated

Neither of mine opened on the central locking. I don't think they do as standard. If you leave the tailgate locked you can use the release by the side of the driver's seat to open it, that way you'll never leave it unlocked by accident.

IIRC central locking as standard was only on the doors. If you had the remote unit, it has a second button, which is a separate activation. I assumed this was for the tailgate.

I think RobinSLXi did a thing about the tailgate locking, but that was some time ago.

skoda do a accessory and its still available it allows you to push boot button when its in the lock position was going to get one and make a couple its about £35+VAT and there is not much to it

you can buy a door popper same thing you use if you take the handles off the car but no use if you not got a alarm to operate it from out side

There are genuine Skoda tailgate catches that are designed to work with the central locking, not sure if thats what uma was referring to. There's a few I've seen crop up on eBay, there's one on there now in fact:

Problem is, I've not a clue whether the central locking unit will have to be different in order to accomodate it...
