Creaking noise from drivers door

Featured Replies

Afternoon all,

Been looking at the common problems over on http://octavia-vrs.com and found the following;

Squeaking / Creaking Door Seals

There may be a complaint of squeaking / creaking noises from around the door aperture on Octavia A5 vehicles, the fix for this is to replace the door seals with a modified part.

Now one of the few complaints I have is that when I rest my arm on the door while driving there is a creaking noise. I have tried the same on the passenger side and it doesn't do it. Was wondering if the above would be the same as the issue I have or if it is different?

If it is the same, does anyone know the part number for the modified part?

I have exactly the same problem - rest my arm on the drivers door when driving and get some sort of creaking/cracking noise. Have checked my seals and cant find the cause. Wouldnt have thought it was the door seal as the noise seems to eb coing from the top panel on the inside !

If anyone has come across this before and/or knows a fix it would be greatly appreciated as this dirves me nuts in an otherwise near perfect car

I would advise never to lean on the door cards with your elbow as it will eventually damage the top of the door card as they are not very strong and a few members on here have complained about the door card actually cracking and having to look for a replacement which is super difficult to find and very expensive to replace if you buy from the dealer.

Have a look here.

Sorry to bring this old thread up, I have this issue. Its a creeking coming from the speaker grill. When I press the inside handle in or the grill in it creeks. I have tightened up the screws under the handle and around the door card. Any other ideas?

I had the same and I've solved the problem it was the felt lip around the window that moves against the paintwork when the car flexes. I got some lubricant and put it around the door frame where the lip touches, the noise stopped completely.
