I was browsing Autotrader and I came across a 53 reg Octavia estate that I really like. It's petrol and it has done 125k miles. Looks very clean and the body work looks perfect.

It's not far from where I live and I'm very tempted to go and have a look. Came on here to find out what they're like to live with first though!

(Also- how much is the tax?)

No idea about the 1.6, but I thought even the 2.0 petrol was gutless. I prefer the diesels, in the absence of the vRS.

1.6 estate is rather gutless, especially when loaded, I did a couple of thousand miles in one for work and found the fuel consumption was not great as a result of needing a heavy right foot all the time.

It's under £2k.

I'm looking to get rid of the Megane I have now. I don't really like it. (Tis speedy though...) I prefer a larger car.

There's plenty under 2k just depends if you want newer and less mileage I sold my old tdi estate for about £900 with full s/h and 290k on the clock
