Bluetooth question?

Featured Replies

I've just bought a 2008 vRS to replace my '06 vRS, I had Columbus sat nav fitted to the old car along with a Fiscon basic plus bluetooth kit, which I was very happy with,

The new car I've bought, also has Columbus nav fitted along with oem bluetooth, the telephone menu wasn't appearing on the maxidot, so after some searching on here, I've discovered my new vRS is fitted with 729A which won't display on the maxidot, I need 729B,

What am I best doing, fitting my Fiscon to my new car and forgetting about the oem kit, or upgrading to 729B? Is that a big job to swap over?

Thanks in advance...

Upgrade. AFAIK it's just a module swap under the drivers seat.

Unplug cable, remove module, replace with new module & connect plug. Don't think you'll need any coding either.

Thanks, now to try locate a 729B module! Think my BT was retrofitted, so hopefully it's easy to swap over!

Some retrofits put module under passenger seat (I did) as its easier. So check there if not under drivers seat.

Also not sure if its related but I've never been able to get phone in my maxidot menu as its a pre fl car (as yrs is presumably?), and I was pointed to 5k0 modules by my supplier as a result. Not sure the newer module will help with maxidot, although it will probably work with newer phones.

Dunno about the numbers, but B is RSAP only and in my case sucked. You need D. I got mine from Portugal on eBay for ~100 - plug n play with normal Headset profile (can use your phone for internet) and also RTSP so can stream from phone to car for tunes or audio books - anything playing on phone can play via radio.
