Rear Axle Poly Bush

Featured Replies

I've had the car in the garage today for a few bits and bobs (which included stuff that means I need a wheel alignment), so thought I'd get them to replace the rear axle bushes with the Powerflex ones I got an age ago that have been sitting there ready to go.

I've got the PFR85-415 which is the same as the MK4 Golf, which I'm sure are the right ones (checked Powerflex and searched on here) but the garage has just given me the car back with all the work apart from the bushes done – saying that the bushes are the wrong shape and aren't the right ones for the car?

Just after some confirmation that I'm not insane and that the Powerflex rear axle bushes are the same for the MK4 Golf and the Fabia?

Seem pointless buying new ones if I have the right ones already though?

From my post........

REAR BEAM AXLE PIVOT BUSH

PowerFlex = PFR85-415 = One piece solid bush with a stainless steel tube insert. You have to make up a puller for this one to pull it into the mounting!!

It is the same as MKIV Golf and MKI Octavia............if your garage think that it is wrong they are thick!.............Well known fact that the MKIV Golf and MKI Octavia, Fabia MKI MKII, Roomster.....and some of the SEAT and Audi all use the same rear bush!........Infact most of the suspension is the same

Also point to note re the powerflex bush that the flange part is thicker nearest the numbering....this needs to go in the same place that the pointer bit on the OEM flange is....Powerflex don't say in their instructions

EDIT

It is not the same shape as an OEM one as it has all the voids filled....as a "performance" upgrade.......but it WILL fit in the same place as the OEM as designed for it .......no problem.........I have done it myself!!!

Cheers fabdavrav. I double checked your post when they said it was wrong so I was sure they were the right ones.

Guess I just need to decide if I trust them to fit it now, or look for another place.
