Trim Clips

Featured Replies

Just wondered if at a push anyone had resorted to using these.

The main diff I can see is no seal.

I'm not sure if you could swap the seal from the broken part onto the new clips though, or as a poor mans bodge just add a bead sealant around the clip just before clipping it in

They look more or less the same and I think I used a couple that broke on my last door seal up. Though this may be the reason I still have a bit of water still coming in

Edit: Bad idea and bad clips for the Fabia I'm sure. From looking at the youtube repair video the standard clips not only have a seal but also opens out in 2 dimensions whereas all the Halfords one does is hook into the door

I was raring with the sun out to have a look at my clips but since dealers parts dept will be shut I won't bother. Not point scrimping on £10 for such an annoying problem if the water problem isn't cured anyway.

Seen these from another forum post recommended, just bought 20 for less than 10 from Skoda !

I tend to just get the gen ones from Skoda. Part No. 5J0867276 @57p/each. I'm sure the Halfords ones will do the job, may even come from the same factory, who knows. But the part number there is for the latest version IIRC.
