Octy fan blower failed?

Featured Replies

Hi folks.

I have an octavia '99 1.9 TDI with a problem.

Looks like the motor's failed on the fan blower - My car has simple aircon with a 4 position speed switch for the fan. Motor seems dead, but I can hear a relay click when I move the switch. Problem is, as there's no manual for the octavia, how easy is it to get/change the blower motor?

Any advice please?

Regards,

TBXP

Go simple first mate - Check the fuse.

Sorry should have said, the fuse is intact...

Next then I would try and get to the plug with a multimeter and see if power is getting to the blower.

This is strange, tried the switch today and the motor came on. Works in all 4 speeds. Wonder if it's the switch or a dead spot on the motor...

Possibly a loose connection somewhere?
