Skoda Fabia Vrs

Featured Replies

Thinking about upgrading to a vrs. Was just wondering everyone's opinions on these. Also what are the common faults to look out for If there are any, what sort of price would you pay for one? And mileage and just any general Info would be great.

Sorry if this has been asked before. On my phone and can't see.

Will.

Is it mk1 diesel or mk2 petrol tsi?

Best to check out the mk1 and mk2 forums as theres loads of info in there.

What's the forum called pal?

Would take my vRS over my old '04 Audi A3 2.0tdi any day of the week.

Woodssy, welcome to this forum.

I think it was 'This forum', but in the 'Fabia mk1' section that was being suggested.

6 speed gearbox (if you get the right one)

All MK1 Fabia vRS are 6 speed

Make sure you get a Black VRS, they are the fastest and the best.

what's not to love? they're noisy, smelly diesels and not actually quick for what was the sportiest version they made

You have to take them as what they are though. I think its easy to look past those not so good points when you get a very rounded package. No one was making out they were "fast", but pointing out the torque/power which is very usable on the road. I think it would be very difficult to find another car that is as good all rounder for performance & running costs as the Fabia is.

Mine doesn't smell?

Mine isn't 'that' noisy.

Mine is what I would call quick. Most 'general' cars on the road would have trouble keeping up with it. It is no Ferrari, but then again it is no 1.1 Saxo.

Find me a car, for the money that is better!

diesels smell, you agree that it's noisy and quicker than a 1.1 Saxo isn't quick, most 'general' cars I see on a daily basis would not have trouble keeping up with a PD130.

finding something 'better for the money' is a bull**** challenge because you wil pick whatever on-paper detail goes in favour of your car and blow it out of all proportion or simply disagree with my opinion

Andy was troll more your new years resolution? :D

Well i think its quick, it doesnt smell and once above 40mph i cant hear the engine :) lovely seats too.

In reality it's not that fast, just feels fast due to the torque.

Lovely punchy engine though. Had it in my Ibiza fr and last fabia vrs.

Old tech now though - would love a twin turbo diesel hatch :)

I loved mine and was my first best car!

More than quick enough for real world driving.

I know he is having proper beef with the mk 1 vrs this year :D
