Seat Sport Strut

Featured Replies

Ok i've had a look through the forums so sorry if it's been asked before and i have missed it, but

Where is the best place to get the Seat Sport Strut Brace from?

A lot of people mention it and it seems to be the one to go for (unless someone can tell me different)

Cheers for your replies!

From a Seat dealer? Just a thought...

For about

IIRC there is also a guide on how to fit it.

Seems almost toooo easy!!!!

not really its only 4 bolts lol or does a wrench scare you ;)

If you make that 4 + 3 then you're right

You need a number 10 socket to get that vacuum box off.

Also make sure you don't tighten up 2 bolts too tight until you've dropped in the other 2 main ones as we found the holes don't really line up all that well. It does fit properly though ;)

oh ok the acumilator needs to come off too lol

The black box on the turret holds the EGR and N75 valves btw.

My Skoda dealer is quite happy to get me SEAT parts if I give him the part number. I think it all comes out of the same warehouse anyway.

Does this strut brace really make a difference to the handling or is it only of benefit with other suspension mods e.g. Eibachs etc....

It gives the steering a bit more feel, but don't expect any miracles, especially compared to the handling of an M3 ;)

Chris

My mate who has a garage claimed it would make absolutely no difference at all.

I must say I'm not 100% convinced it did anything but as I've bought & fitted it it will be left on now.

ive got one of these on my seat sport, the biggest difference i found was that it stopped alot of the understeer when tackling these anoying roundabouts in milton keynes, and as stated steering feel is better

You can feel a lot more, and the tyres seem to work harder.

I suppose what I am trying to say is that it doesn't stop body roll or anything like that. Feedback in the steering wheel is a little better :)

Hey another Milton Keynes fellow! Eibach springs makes the roundabouts more enjoyable ;)

It does come out of the same warehouse but a Skoda dealer can only order it through a SEAT dealer as it is a 'SEAT part'. Anyone in Newbury area? I know Newbury SEAT have one in stock after ordering one twice in error!

As per my post about it ;)

It's kinda weird as in Newbury you seem to have a whole load of dealers in the same area :D
