What Coilovers Are You Using?

Featured Replies

I'm looking to get some and would like some recommendations.

Is it necessary to update top mounts or drop links etc or is the standard stuff ok?

Fk?

JOM?

AP?

ProSport?

Jamex?

I should prob add that I'm not looking to slam it, just would like it a little lower to reduce the arch gap, so maybe I don't need Coilovers and could get away with lowering springs.

Any thoughts and advice would be ace.

I've got JOM's on mine with some shorter drop links off a ford puma :)

But mines pretty low with 17 inch tt comps :)

Kw variant 1 innox line. Super comfort and quality.

Another vote for the KW V1s although mine aren't innox.

Fairly comfy too, although mates do moan on bumpy roads :p

All the way down with adjusters in on the back, and half way down on the front

Weitecs, made by KW, very comfortable and a good ride!

Best to replace the top mounts and drop links too.

Out of the ones you've listed the AP are the best option in terms of build and ride quality.

Another vote for Kw v1

I felt replacing the top mounts with bearings and bushes at the same time as MY experience told me that if you start changing stuff it can change the integrity of other bits and didn't want to pay the labour twice!

Vogtland 35mm lowering springs reduce the arch gap and give near OEM comfort with a sporty feel..

Another KW variant 1, I just cannot complain about them at all tbh.

Fabia is just too high for springs to give a decent look IMO. I'v also got KW V1s, no complaints

Just had a quick nosey on eBay for the kw's and prices are between £700 & £1,000? None listed for the fabia though.

polo9n/9n3 and ibiza are all the same if it helps broaden the search

v1's will be around £650 in innox line

DPM performance £450.00 BOOM

not for stainless its not.

Spax RSX on mine, no complaints from me.

Yeah I paid about £500 for mine. eBay obviously not offering the best choice.

The Inox line has increased its price to £850 from most places :/

Ah, I just remembered, KW have had a re jiggle with their brands. What were the V1 basics are now branded as Weitecs.

FKs on mine. Can't really complain apart from the back seems to go miles lower than the front! I also used new top mounts, bearings and bump stops.

Yeah makes sense, so happy with my weitecs, although I wish I had stumped for the gtx's

Anybody had any experience with H&R Twintube?

I'm torn between the H&R Twintubes and the Spax RSX.. I know you will probably say KW V1's but I want stainless steel and the inox line is now £850!

I run Kw V2 innox lines, noticeably stiffer from the V1's my mate has, no adjuster cups in the rear. Prob not for people who want lowness and comfort lol
