Skoda Octavia VRS WRC Opinion.

Featured Replies

'Drive the Deal' removed the hatchback from their lists some weeks ago. I was attempting to get one of the dealers remaining stock but Drive the Deal suppliers didn't have any.

But I managed to get a unregistered steel grey metallic with black wheels and picked it up today! What snow? Effortless 90 miles return journey, with 47mpg, - great car!

The car in question is priced to massage the sales managers ego. Quite a few better buys currently available.

As mentioned by IMT it is now impossible to factory order a new vRS, or any MK2 Octavia for that matter. All you can pick from is the shrinking supply of cars in dealer stock. The factories are now being prepared for the Octavia MK3, later this year.

Dont think this is quite true....Octavia estates can still be factory ordered

Hi Phil,

Way overpriced IMO, plus try and trade it in and they'll offer you next to nothing for it as it's green- as previous factory added options generally don't add value and body kits and fancy wheel deffo don't. If there are any left you can get a new vRS for less, even the estates with the VAT back plus £500 off and 3 years servicing if it's still available for taking out the finance. Have you looked on the skoda website for 2nd hand ones too. A new blackline would have cost you loads less and the only difference on the extras front is columbus sat nav over the amundsen and heated seats. You can add bluetooth to the amundsen but other posts I've seen suggest you can't do this to the columbus. I know you won't be able to get a new blackline hatch now but it demonstrates how overpriced this is, again IMO.

good hunting, the CR 170 vRS is a magic car.

As of Friday last week there were 3 new black line cr vrs estates in the Skoda network , not sure about hatches. So there are/were a few left.

Thanks everyone for your help.

I think I can safely bet on saying no to this particular car as not one person said it was good value.

I knew the blackline would of been a good option but I didnt start looking until it was too late as I would only really like a hatch but it doesn't look like there are any left, so I may look for a used one.

After looking at the spec of the MK3 it may be worth me waiting for that but as IMT said it may be a long wait.

As for colour, I may look into getting just a black or white one and wrapping it if I feel its not exciting enough :)

Cheers for all your comments and opinions.

I think this is the best idea, with the Mk3 Octavia due in March, and the vRS Models due for July.. you would purchase this one for £22k and lose £4k just when the new ones come out.

And they will be priced from £22k for the base vRS Model.. so with the extra's you're looking at roughly £24k.
