Radio help please

Featured Replies

I have a 2002 Octavia Ambiente Auto

It has the standard radio with cd changer in the boot.

Lately the aerial has been screwing up and losing signal, I took it apart and cleaned the amplifier and it helped for a bit but now the problem is back.

So it seems I have to get a new aerial complete with amp.

Anyone know the price from the dealers and part number please?

Also while I'm at it I might change the radio to one that plays MP3's

What kind of aerial connector is used to plug into the radio? I know if I use the standard aerial I'll need one of the units to provide power to the aerial lead, but I'll need to know which kind of plug it uses to get the right one.

Also I see there are several alternative aerials on eBay which have an amplifier, but they all seem to have the power lead seperate.

Is there a unit to recombine the power using the aerial lead and feed from the radio, or would I have to run a power cable through the roof lining?

Where would I take the feed from that's handy to get into the roof lining*

Step 1: Get the current configuration to work (buy a new aerial base from the dealer).

Step 2: Fit new HU and Power injector to supply power to amplifier in aerial base.

Not sure on the part number, just phone the dealer and ask.
