Hi to you all, I crashed my Yeti last night, I say "i" but i actually mean some baffoon decided to crash into me in a head on collision last night, i am fine but they did a runner. the car took alot of the impact. the front is completely unrecognisable. All the front Air bags deployed and i have walked free with just a bruised hand. I can not believe the car took this much impact. I suppose this is why it has a five star NCAP rating. Has anyone else had i know it's not a good experience but have you been impressed when this happend to you?

I got clobbered by an old gentleman in the Forest of Dean 2 years ago, and another Yetiist has recently had his car rebuilt. Agreed they are very strong!

Glad you are OK. Cars can be mended or replaced, humans are more difficult.

Pictures are good, if you don't mind, purely so we have an idea.

I know how well the Octy I held up, so the Yeti should be good too.

Did you get any of the other drivers details?

What car was it and have you reported a failure to stop to the police?

sorry taking photos was my last thought at the time. the fact it was very dark did not help. I will have to try and get some photos before they write it off or repair it.

Yeah i reported it all, i actually have most of the number plate which i have passed to the police( V956M?? tbut the last two are WU silver focus 3dr, accoding to the DLVA web site this is not licensed. this is really the only detail i have. i suppose i will have to wait for the police to do there searches.

How on earth did a focus drive off after hitting a yeti head on

I think it'll certainly be a police hunt job. Don't forget just because the police don't go after them, it doesn't mean you can't sue them for your losses in court if you end up out of pocket. (If you have motor legal cover ask about it all).

Hope you're all ok and as above, the car can be replaced.

It's pretty horrible when it happens and your ears will ring from the air bags for a while, but at the end of the day you're in one piece.

Well the Fiesta has narrow tyres and should work on in this weather. They're a hoot to drive in good weather; You do have to work them a bit hard sometimes, but that's half the fun.

Hope you've been to the doc to get checked out. You've probably taken more of a beating than it feels like.

I crashed mine before xmas, it also crumpled well but mainly cosmetic damage, no air bags or major damage, just front plastic bits and lights, bonnet and new radiator intercooler A/C condenser etc, all in about £3k.

Good to hear you are ok, as for the Yeti, even if it gets written off you can get another.

It's never good to be involved in an accident but at least you are in one piece.
