What's It Worth

Featured Replies

The other half wants me to sell my 54 Black Fabia VRS- 64k on the clock, full service history, Immaculate condition. Planning to get alloys fully redone in Feb. All the expected things changed, Cam Belt, Water Pump etc.

Struggling to find a similar vehicle for age and mileage etc.

Any thoughts what it's worth

Id say £3,500-£4,000 would be a fair price. This is just my opinion though.

To be honest mate they are becoming more common place

I've seen 56 plates for £4k and very recently as I had Octavia 1.8TSi's in front of me would have accepted that for mine, although the parkers suggests more like £5200

At the end of the day its worth whatever you can get for it.

I'd aim for the very most £3500 myself, probably a bit less although with the condition suggested above shouldn't be too difficult. HTH ?

Parkers seems to agree

if cambelt and alloys etc are all done before the sale i would aim to try sell it for around the £5000 mark aslong as the car looks in reasonable condition body wise. Its alot easier to reduce the price to a prospective buyer than raise it :)

It is mint condition. Had it from 3 yrs old. It does leisurely 10 mile round trip to work with the wife most days who doesn't "trash" it around.

The alloys are flaking hence a full strip and re-coat - should cost me 150 of the Queens English notes.

Gutted even considering selling it- don't fancy much else available the moment. Although the wife is eyeing up a A3 Sportback (suggestions)

It's worth whatever you will accept, and the buyer will pay. Parkers and Glass' can do fairly accurate valuations. If you want to sell it here you'll need to join 'Freedom'.

HTH

I traded in my "54 Black Fabia VRS- 64k on the clock, full service history, Immaculate condition" + full leather for £4,500 in August 2010 - the dealer sold it for £6,000.

I think some of the prices noted above a little optimistic. I'm thinking I might get £5,000 for my current 2007vRS SE if I'm lucky.

Yep, that is closer the reality (for those prepared to accept it ).

Wouldn't waste money refurbishing - money spent on car is money lost. Try to do it yourself or accept any minor impact it will have IMO but you won't get that £150 back by spending it on the alloys refurb - best done if you were keeping it not selling it !

Can of alloy spray is £5, newspaper is free, masking tape and sand paper a few quid, rub them down a bit to make them look smoother then provided its a good day just mask the rim right over the tyres (overspray on rubber will look hideous) and spray them up evenly and smoothly over the recommended distance.

Guaranteed they will look better and save you that cash. If you are really that bothered about the wheels you should keep the car otherwise accept you are selling it for cash.

Next buyer will scuff them up in no time anyway so don't fool yourself (cynic mode off)

Get a new missis and keep the fabia ;)
