Chrysler Ypsilon

Featured Replies

My mate has an old MKI Fabia 1.4MPI (he owned it from new and liked it) which he has given to his son (just passed his test). He was asking me a couple of months ago what to get. I had suggested either new or secondhand MKII Fabia, Citigo, VW Polo.......he even looked at a Vauxhall Corsa (New)..................

Got an email from him the other day........he's gone a got a bloody Chrysler Ypsilon (new).................................FFS!!!!!

Linky to their site

http://www.chrysler.co.uk/ypsilon

I remember when they came out and thought.....bloody carp.................

Anyone got any opinions????..........................So far I've just said I hope you got a very good deal on it!..............Personally I think he'd be better off setting his cash on fire!!!

Love child of a pt cruiser and a fiat 500 ?

Never been in one but what an ugly car, can't comment on how it drives so it may be a good little car.

This Lancia is way old now, ok when it 1st came out but rebadging it as a Chrysler is daft ,like when Cagiva bought the rights to use the Harley Davidson name and made a Two stroke single bike with Harley Davidson badges

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lancia_Ypsilon ( this version is 6 years old!

As mentioned its a rebadged lancia and underneath it is a fiat 500

Oh god! How horrible

Hideous

Should be better quality than most other Chrysler UK Motors then

Was in Italy in may and these where all over the place, totally ugly

Yes, cos Lancia are renowned for their reliability, build quality and lack of corrosion aren't they :|

Looks like it's been disigned by someone taking illegal substances. I remember the Ad- Nice bit of skirt. Made me laugh 'cause the last thing someone like her would be seen dead in would be one of those ugly mother *******. Just who were they trying to kid?

It's different, I don't mind it.

Fiesta, Corsa, yawn.

I have a sneaky suspicion it's mother was a Ssangyong Rodius, I'm sure I see two or three little Ypsilon's de-camping from the rear of a Rodius.

And the dad a PT cruiser....Looking at the front it's deffo a 2 bagger IMO! Reviews from the press are not good either Autocar gives it 3 * Whatcar 2 Compared to the opposition it's dire. Some may feel the need to be different- fine by me. others might think WTF did u but THAT for!

Totally agree with silver on the corsa thought. Had 1 for 2 years as a company vehicle after having a number of fiestas and got rid of it as soon as I could in preference to the train- that's how much I hated it!

Compared to Chrysler UK yes.

The Mk3 is only about 18 months old and comes off the same production line in Poland as the 500 and Ka that it shares a platform with.

The interior looks ok but the just like it's bigger brother the Delta, it's been beaten with an ugly stick and will depreciate really badly as a result.

That was in the 80s, when Skoda were the source of many an automotive joke. The build quality and refinement of a 120L isn't particularly relevant when considering a new Octavia, so I'm not sure why a similar aged Lancia should be of interest here either :)

It is Just a Fiat 500 with an American badge.

Had the use of a Delta for a while and if it's anything like that, it won't be too bad but the design is a matter of taste.

Went to look at a Kia once and they also sold Lacias/Chryslers. God it was the ugliest thing I'd seen since a Rexxon.

Bit of an update.....

Spoke to my mate about his Chrysler..............

.........yep he got a good deal..................£7,990 !!!......... :o

For an "S" model 62 plate with 10miles on the clock when they have a suggested retail price of £10,695!!!!

Just proves they can't shift them at the "full" price!!!

Still a lot for a Panda in a cheap suit.

By that logic, the Mk2 Octavia is also a crap car because that's been offered with a similar level of discount.

1. They look terrible.

2. Depreciation is huge, good job it came with a good discount.

3. They look really, really terrible. Who on Earth would want to drive one of those!

I noticed even the pic up the thread does not include the front view.
