Offset queries....

Featured Replies

I've just used the search engine to confirm that the standard offset for the vRS Fabia Mk1 is ET35.

Therefore if I buy a set of alloys at ET45, does this mean that they will sit further inwards towards the centre of the car?

Might sound a stupid question, but I just want to double check this before buying alloys....

Would I experience any issues running 205/40/17's with ET45? I assume buying 10mm wheel spacers would solve the problem? Are there any advantages to running 15mm spacers over 10mm? What would people recommend from experience please?

Thanks all!

Al

45mmET is 45mm between the cl of the width of the alloy wheel and the face of the mounting bit on the hub/disc............so yes a 45mm ET will sit further inwards..........this could cause it to hit the suspension struts etc...............so yes spacers.....but better to get the alloys in the ET that you want!

Cheers dude - just checking!

Think the alloys I want only come in 45ET for 5x100 though :-/

10mm hubcentrics and longer bolts aswell then

Get some slightly bigger spacers ;) always nice to see some wide looking wheels. I'm running 20mm rear and 15mm up front :)

My final offset it 28 on the front and 23 on the back but know people who run as low as 15

Just to double check then will These fit ok 17" wheel with an ET47 with 205 40 17 Tyres, running 15mm front spacers and 30mm rear spacers?

No rubbing?

Cheers.

Depends on the wheel width whether they will rub..

If they are wide enough then no but if they are 7j or 7.5j they probably will rub on the rear unless u run 195/40 tyres ;)....

Or slimmer rear spacers...

Yeah they are a 7.5j bud.

Yeah they are a 7.5j bud.

Do the wheels come with these spacers or were u just planning on running them with 15mm + 30mm?

15mm front + 20mm rear would be fine with 205/40 tyres..

I'm new to this ET wheel fitting lark lol I thought I'd worked it out right. Oh no lol.

No biggy, I ordered the spacers new separately from the wheels. Il change the rear spacers to some new 20mm versions then as my 205 40 17 yokohama parada spec2 tyres have only been used for one summer on my 17" spiders and are like new.

Thanks for your help Matt.

If uv ordered them then fit em m8 n give them a go.. might be ok if ur not running too low..

U ordered longer bolts aswell?

Yeah longer bolts came with the spacers. Il try them to start with and go from their. Best of it is lol I had some 20mm rear hubcentric spacers and sold them on ha ha.

Want my coilovers wound down front and rear so basically you can just about get a finger between tyre and arch.

Don't want to be sump scraping low and plus it destroys the handling too.

On my phone, arse double post.

Well with 30mm adapters your 7.5" et47 wheels will become et17 at the rear..

Heres a pic of my 7.5" et21 (after 20mm adapters) rears.. they are pretty much flush with the arch.. but im running 195/40 tyres so the tyres tuck nicely under the arch with a tiny stretch..

Yours will sit abit further out so will "poke" but because ur tyres are 205/40 they will be wider so not looking good for 30mm m8.. :(..

With 20mm adapters yours will be et27 so will sit a little further in than mine but that would allow for the extra tyre width.. or 25mm adapters would bring it to et22 so pretty much the same as mine but with the extra tyre width..

Hope that helps m8 :)

Will they fit.com

:)

This seemed like the best place to ask, despite being a little old...

I've purchased some Porsche wheels off ebay, they are 17x7.5 @ ET53, didn't really put much thought in at the time, other than the wheels are adapter friendly!

I plan to use 205/40R17 rubber of one description or another.

So it's the classic question of will it fit, I plan to purchase H&R adapters 18mm at the front for ET35 and 25mm at the rear for ET28 car is lowered on Weitec coilovers, happy the fronts will fit as the majority of after market wheels are ET35, its the rears that are bugging me, so will they fit without rubbing on the rear of the car?

I'm currently out of the country so can't measure up, advice would be appreciated so it can all be sorted and ready to go!

Just about to run 8J fronts, with ET15 and 9J rears ET 20, ill let you know how it goes considering trax next weekend :(
