Cheap & simple Bluetooth solution

Featured Replies

Just thought I would share this find with others, anyone wanting to add Bluetooth functionality to their shiny new vRS Blackline (or any other model come to that). I purchased one of these 'SuperTooth buddy' a couple of months back and can't recommend it highly enough, it works flawlessly and the sound quality is great at both ends of the call, it really is great value for money. Obviously it doesn't quite live up to a built in system regards an inclusive phone book etc but hey, you can get them for around £30 if you shop about. There is no installation and it only takes a minute to set up, you clip it to your sun visor and away you go, happy days.

PS: Just for the record I am in no way connected with the manufacturers or distributors of this product

But if you have a Blackline all you need is the OE microphone and someone with VCDS to activate the OE bluetooth already fitted to the head unit.

Yep, I'm aware of that mate. You can't get it working for £30 though plus some of us don't want the hassle of removing trims etc, its a personal choice as is everything.

Just thought it may be of use and appeal to some of the guys out there that's all.

Each to their own, personally I would rather spend an hour of my time to fit the microphone and code the radio than have something you have to keep charging up, will not sound as good and has no phonebook etc.

As others have pointed out the cost could be no more to do it OE.

Now if the OE radio was not capable of having bluetooth retro-fitted that would be different.

I'm happy with my parrot kit, not too expensive but if I had the blackline I would definitely be buying the oem mic and enabling via vcds

I know it's down to choice, but in all honesty the mic fiting is an easy job and all hidden so nicely. Not to mention the integration with the head unit

It cost me 25quid t get my blue tooth in my blackline working. That cos was just the mic I bought. Every thing else free, did mic fitting my self such a easy task.

A recommendation is always good, so thanks.

I have always regretted not specifying factory bluetooth when I ordered my car, and retro-fitting seems way too expensive (was mega expensive), so I've been considering something 3rd party that easily clips on somehwere, and for £30 or so can't really complain.

my blackline has a fully functining bluetooth.cost 28 quid for the mic from poland.20 min fix.and a visit to a great guy gizmo 68.maxidot comes up with info to.a real pucka job

Like this, I went for a similar Parrot minikit. Does the job few minor niggles like needing to charge it and sometimes connecting to it from inside my house.

One day I'll be brave and remove the trim but really really don't want to! I know it will be worhwhile.

that job is so so simple to do.its worth it

for the price of the loom and mic, it would be silly not to go that route. tbh skoda should have offered it and increased the price of the blackline

Bought one of these for my previous car... was great :) easy to set up and use. The main advantage for me was you could pair two phones and have both connected at once... had my work and personal phone connected.

When I bought my Octavia the previous owner had installed a Parrot kit... not used the super tooth since
