  • Surely you know the reputation of BMW drivers ......... !!!!!!??????? I wouldn't be seen in one.

  • In my opinion (which doesn't mean a great deal) The BMW is just like a MINI.................There bummer cars!

  • BMW= worth more, parts more expensive? Vrs= wayyyy better fun, and your swapping for a slower car?! my mate has a 1 series diesel and he wanted to have a little "who's is faster", you should have see

Test drive it and make a decision if you prefer it to your car? :p Probably what I would do. ;)

If it's a straight swap then what he said ^^^

Are both the cars the same age?

If not then what's newest?

Both 2005 , the bmw has slightly higher miles but full dealer history to back it up

Swap! It's worth more than the fabia!

Why does he want to swap with you? He's not trying to swap you a pup with yours is he??

you're driving the top of the range at the minute

118d isnt just a compromise its 3rd behind 120d and 123d

£130 per tyre, keys that rattle against the dash, **** stereo bloody tramlining oh and the fact they get robbed (do i sound bitter)

£130 per tyre ??

Its a beemer.

Its worth more money

I dont see the problem!

Even if you dont get on with it you can flog it for extra cash. Win win

£130 per tyre

Bin the runflats (if still fitted) and you can half that price and still fit a premium tyre (205/55/16”)

Personally if you like the car then go for it, it will be useless in the snow however without winter tyres fitted.

£130 per tyre ??

Unless you want to drive on ditchfinders

225 45 17 rear (runflat)

205 50 17 front (run flat)

you can go to XL's but there is no spare or space to put it in !

I had 210 bhp 120d till it got pinched with the key cloner

I much prefer my vrs

Make sure you notify your insurance, first thing they check !

I'd rather have the 118d personally, but my experiences with BMW vs VAG have been massively different to each other, and nearly always in BMW's favor so I maybe a bit biased. I think they're only a map and turbo away from the 120d anyway, I think they're the same block etc. (Been a while since I looked into them, so could be a bit out on that.)

As Jase says though, sell it if it's not your thing.

Tyre wise, they're all pretty decent and up to £40 under £130 in places. I've also not found them to be the cheapest online anyway, so suspect there are bigger savings to be made if you shopped around.

Swap for a week and see how you get on.

Given the choice again I may have opted for the 120d auto instead..

I like the drive and boot space of the 1.

The only downsides are as above posts pointed out - runflats.. no spare wheel space in the boot so £££.. and insurance is higher.

Though like for like now I wouldn't swap a 118d for mine, only a 120d msport auto (or quicker) .

I much prefer my vrs

The fabia is a new age saxo

BMW has a bit of class about it. I think a 1 series bimmer will be my next car...

My Fabia is for sale as I want a 123d Sport :)

Do the swap then put the bmw up for sale and buy another skoda

You buy a car on what other people think?

To the OP, Go for it if you like it.
