wheel sizes and patterns

what are the smallest alloys i can fit to a yeti? and what is the bolt pattern on the hubs? 5x100?

Pretty sure 16” are the smallest (you may get 15’s on some of the smaller engined yeti’s?) they use 5x112 PCD, same as the MKII Octavia, Superb and most Audi’s.

If you go for Audi alloys then make sure the centre bore is 57.1mm and not the newer 66.6mm found on some Audi’s, otherwise you will need spigot rings as well.

I don't know if you could squeeze 15" rims around the 288mm brakes but the 312mm brakes (as stock on the 2.0 TDi 170) only leave a little clearance with 16". My winter 16s are a snug fit (3mm clear) -

Mine is fitted with 16" Audi alloys bought on eBAY for £60 mid summer (they were collect only keeps price down as it puts people off). Here is a shot of the rear wheel which gives a good view of the brake disc. Still looking for some decent centre caps that fit though, 68mm.

Yes, though a bit harder to tell at the moment!

There was a post once of some plank that fitted 15" wheels to his Yeti and when they scraped over the brake calipers he just chiselled the metal out so the wheel could pass!!! So nothing smaller than 16" will ever fit a Yeti. For more VAG wheels specs see this thread:

Thanks Johann, that plank came to mind last night.

I'm still trying to work out why the OP wants to fit smaller wheels.

Cheaper winter tyres possibly? I was thinking of the same on my vRS next year. Other than that I have no idea

The OP drives a Fabia so perhaps already have a 15" set and he's wanting to sell that to a mate with a Yeti OR he is contemplating buying a Yeti...

Sorry for bringing back this old thread. When I bought my Yeti, the back end of last year I traded in a Toyota Urbancruiser AWD.I had a set of Winter Tyres on it which where 195/60/r16 Bridgestone Blizzacks, which I have kept.for next Winter. I was hoping to buy some Skoda 16,s and using them again on the Yeti.I have looked through the Forum and have noticed that these might not be "Type Approved". Can anyone on this Superb Forum give me some advice.

Regards Tony

Tony they are not an approved size, no.

TBH I would sell the Blizzaks on the rims (I currently use the same tyres and although they are better than a summer tyre, IMO they are not a good winter tyre) and buy some Nokian WR G2’s or WR A3’s, these are BY FAR superior to the Bridgestone’s we both currently have.
