I'm sure someone will sort you out, have a look in the VCDS section for someone in your area.

It's a bit far for me to travel ;)

Anyone in the South Bristol area fancy scanning my A3 to see what the settings are for the wipers? PM if you do.

If only I was closer I would do it straight away!

I'm sure someone will do it for us... pretty please!

On a side-ish note. I used the service position last night when it started snowing. Made clearing the windscreen easier this morning (had about 5 inches of snow during the night). Thanks for the tip on that one!

It amazes me that people don't look in the manual, either in their car or even online on this forum, to find out such things. :wall:

Mine does this too, its annoying trying to time turning the car off when the wipers are down (i do know about the service position though)

Trouble is there is so much irrelevant crud in the owners manual that 'peeps' don't bother with it until there is a problem!

It's so easy to ask a question here.

To be fair, who would think that there was such a thing as "service position" for the wipers?

If i'm honest, the fact that the wipers are obviously hinged yet won't get past the bonnet when parked would have lead me to specifically have a look in manual as to why.

I guess nowadays I'm in the minority in that I actually sat and read the manual before driving off the dealer's forecourt, which is a sad state of affairs to be able to say that. :dull: To compound the fact, one dealer I visited to look at how large the sunroof was before I added it on the options said categorically that it only went so far open, which seemed both odd ad bad design to me. I got the manual out to read it while we were sitting in the car and found that there is a stiff, spring loaded last quarter of a turn on the control that slid it all the way back into the aperture and he was just bullsh1tting cos he couldn't be @rsed to do his job properly and find out about a car he was trying to sell. :finger:

I didin't buy it from him! :moon: :D

I'm forgetful and lazy.

This means I tend to wash the car with it locked as I've left the keys in the house and already have my wellies on by the time I remember!

As I can't be bothered to go back into the house to grab the keys I just lift the wipers off the glass enough to get my sponge under them but not enough for the arms to touch the edge of the bonnet :giggle:
