Hi all

Had this problem for a couple of weeks now.

Fabia mk1 vRS 54 plate

Basically the car unlocks itself and rolls down the windows.

VagCom comes up with this:

got to my car this morning and it was soaking inside so Ive had to resort to taking the fuses out for the windows!

but the car is still unlocking itself, but it has bursts of constantly trying to unlock

Any help would be appreciated

That fault will cause the unlock and windows to go down as it thinks you have the key in the lock, held in the unlock position.

i did think that but it says passenger side? but theres no key barrel on the passenger door?

Take the central locking fuse out. I had this problem the other week. I've put the fuse back in now and it seems ok but I need to look in to it some more as I know it'll happen again.

i think its just moisture mixed with cold? its been stupidly wet here for months and it stopped doing it when the car warmed up. Might strip it and check contacts etc. silly question but does taking the fuse out affect alarms etc?

A lot of the ECU faults assume the car is left hand drive, and running in Kms. So passenger side could be UK drivers side.

Ahh makes sense, any idea how.much a new part would be?

Its probably wise to get the door handle and lock out of the door and clean it up and soak it in wd40.They normally get sticky with dirt and moisture inside the lock barrel and stick "open" A good clean and oil will do wonders.

i must say in the 2 years ive had the car ive not once actually put the key in the lock! ill take it out and clean it tomorrow and see what happens.
