Recent issue with 1.9TDi (08 plate, 105PS) engine where you turn the key, it fires then dies instantly.

This happens two or three times then starts and idles smoothly and runs smoothly. Does this when engine is cold or hot. Dealer is saying camshaft sensor but reading through the forums, that seems to have the sypmtom of excessive cranking which we haven't experienced.

Anyone else experienced this?

Sorry, should also say, when it does start, it fires, stutters once then runs OK. Adding a little throttle sometimes stops it cutting.
