No issues what so ever

Was pulled a few times

Was 3/4 sized sticker

The bmc didnt really make much difference to sound! If you want an awesome growl the best thing for that is a hybrid pd150 turbo! These things growl like no other!!

Thanks mate :) lovely car!

awsome buddy, thanks for that!

Not disappointed to find this thread is NOT about a limited warranty on the powertrain! :)

Anyone know if the "shiny" section is removable?

On the engine cover?

If so yes, held in by clips, just in clip it from the rear :)

Yea the shineier section the badge is stuck too.

Erm as for the badge you need to like break the plastic clips off the back as the locating pins are bigger than the holes if that makes sense. Then just stick it back on with double sided tape :)

I've removed the badge but want to remove the section to wrap it in vinyl.

Use a small flat bladed screw driver, you should be able to prise it up from the top.

On the last picture, is the stickered section removable?

Yep you have to gently peel the sound proofing off the bottom to release the tabs and the badge. I placed the vinyl on then poked the tabs for the badge back through so i could fit the badge on again. I the re applied he sound proofing with some sealant or arraldite cant remember which one.

Ta guys.

I found out how to do it. I can get to 4/5 clips without removing the sound deadening and the others are able to be undone with a small flat blade driver through the top.

Sorry to infiltrate you Fabia 1 guys, but this is what I did to my Octavia engine and battery cover with a few cans from Halfords - not everyone's cup of tea, but I like it :)

did you use any primers or anything? or did you just give it a good clean and spray straight on, im wanting to rattlecan a few plastic bits on mine and i have no idea how to go about it, i understand its harder than metal spraying?

If anyone's looking to customise their engine cover and paint over the gloss plastic, please let me know!

I've been trying to source a replacement cover for a while, I scuffed mine removing the tdi badge. It would make no difference to someone who's about to paint theirs.

There's money your way in it.

Why don't you wrap it in some gloss black vinyl?

Gloss Vinyl scratches easily Ive used it before.

My other option is to have it painted, which is last resort if I can't replace it.
