PD105 DSG Remap advice

Featured Replies

I improved the handling, RARB, Superpro bushes, 4 wheel alignment and 312mm brakes. Faster into and through the corners. And so much nicer to drive.

I didn't/wouldn't lower the car because a) I need the load capability B) The roads I drive on can be very bumpy/undulating and I have already broken a sump at std ride height. c) the geometry goes to pot if you lower very much d) set up becomes quite critical, unless properly checked and set by checking corner weights, can become dangerous. e) I don't get the "look".

Next time I need dampers, the new last year Boge are starting to go away, I fancy some of the std ride height monotube Bilsteins

Been thinking of going for proper 4 wheel alignment.

There's a very highly rated (by Brisky folks) guy over near leeds and people have said it transforms how the car drives.

Judging by the responses on this here forum its mainly the VRS model that needs wheel alignment as standard.

Definitely worth getting it checked properly. Then you're sure it's setup right.

All models suffer from it, so it's worth getting checked.

Mine had the droning from the rear, along with excessive tyre wear on the left rear in particular. Hunter 4 wheel alignment showed the geometry was out on the rear.

Fair enough. I'm just going by what I've read in other threads, where it was nearly all VRS owners complaining about uneven tyre wear. Maybe the sports suspension is more prone to the problem, or shows the symptoms more obviously, or perhaps the owners are that bit more sensitive to it.

I had the same wear pattern on my 4x4, so its not just the VRS models. ABC in Leeds sorted it out.

Maybe.........Or the low profile tyres on the vRS sound and feel particularly awful when they sawtooth!
