Vrs petrol road tax price

Featured Replies

Hi all new on here and seriously thinking bout buying my first skoda I have spotted a 2008 octavia 2.0 t fsi vrs when I look this car up on the parkers tax guide it says its band h which is £195 a year to tax but the dealer says its tax band j which is I think £250 to tax??

Could any of you kind people enlighten me to the truth??

Many thanks neil.

You could ask the seller what the official CO2 emissions are which is listed on the registration document in g/kg. The current 2.0 TSI engine is band h, though I don't know what bthe TFSI engine is but someone who has one will tell you I guess

Think my TFSi was about £270 to tax.

Have you got the reg number? If so just pop it into the DVLA website an it will tell you exactly what the tax is......

Just re taxed mine and its £250 for the year which I don't think is to bad.

That's for the TFSI. Mines a 57 plate

The current 2.0 TSI (EA888 series) engines whilst similar in power output (200PS or 197bhp) to the older TFSI (EA113 series) is slightly more efficient with consequent lower fuel consumption and hence less of the all important CO2 emissions.

175g/km (£195/year) puts the TSI powered Octavia's one band lower than the older TFSI versions which are 188g/km, a bummer for the older models, but that's progress as they say.

This link gives a potted history if anyones interested enough:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Volkswagen_Group_petrol_engines
