Auto lock on drive away

Featured Replies

Hi all

I have a 2006 Octy 2 Elegance 2.0tdi DSG estate with maxi dot. I have read a few posts about being able to set the auto lock facility when you drive away in the maxi dot system but can't see it anywhere. I have the facility enabled when I got the car to just unlock the drivers door on first key press (which is fine) but I saw this can be changed in maxi dot too?

I therefore wanted to know:

a. do I just have an older version of maxidot where this isn't possible?

b. does the 2006 Elegance have the auto lock facility which can be enabled via vagcom before I start down that road?

Cheers!

You probably don't have the correct convenience module in the car. IIRC 2007MY cars were the first with these options in Maxidot. It can be coded with VCDS though.

This - I can do this on all pre-Maxidot cars, or Maxidot cars that don't have all features available.

Thanks guys - is this a dealer only trip or can independents do it as well? Any recommendations in Bournemouth/Poole?

I don't have maxidot, but I have recently enabled auto-lock using VCDS on my 2005 Elegance (also enabled both rear fog-lights, coming home/leaving home lights, and flashing brake light under emergency braking).

So it definitely can be done!

It is slightly annoying when I get out the car to get something out of the boot but leave the key in the ignition - I always forget and have to go back to unlock everything. The doors only auto-unlock when the key is removed, but you can get out any of the doors with a double-pull of the inside handle.

I did that a few times at first with my last car - but soon got into the habit of hitting the interior unlock button instead of the double pull......

Didn't realise there were so many additional features. Can you enable front fog lights on unlock/lock instead of rear?

There is a link to the list and map of Briskoda VCDS owners in my signature.

I think you can enable front fog lights to come on when you unlock/lock on models from a certain date onwards, but on mine the only option seems to be headlights and rear lights (no fogs front or rear). Without maxi-dot the time they stay on for needs to be set with VCDS as well; mine defaulted to 80 secs, which was far too long, so I reduced it down to 30 secs.

If it's not active in VCDS the option won't come up in maxidot.

This certainly is available on all pre-FL, got in in maxidot on both my 54 plate and 08 plate Octys.

Pretty sure I had to change the CCM to get the options for anti hijack and single door unlock on Maxidot.

i have a 2010 vrs and the autolock feature had to be done by the dealership - they never charged me and it only took 15mins

I have never found anyone with vcds in Bournemouth area so I always use my dealer for things like this. They are a family business and extremely helpful.

They are Meadens Skoda of Sway. Whatever you do don't use Westover Skoda they are a bunch of cowboys there that messed up my other 18 month old Octavia.

There are some VAG independents in this area but I have never used them.

I have full VCDS and am very often down in bournemouth to visit friends and the like.

If you have something you want done, PM me and I'll let you know when I'm next down.

Failing that, I can't agree more with the comments.

Meadens are great and westover are certainly not in my experience.
