Navigation does not speak

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have the following problem and I need advice.

I had Octavia II noFL with RNS510 Columbus (1Z0035680A - H05, 0xC001, SW2684, radio 0003) and everything was OK.

Now I have Superb II with sound system. After inserting navigation to the car, navigation does not speak (radio OK, MP3 OK). I installed a new version SW3984, but it's the same.

But if I change my coding without sound system, navigation guidance function (spoken) and everything is OK.

We advise anyone know what the problem is?

Thank you very much

Check volume setting as Columbus has separate volume for each mode ie Nav, Radio/Media, Traffic, Phone etc. Set up the Nav and while it should be 'talking' turn the volume up. Along with the volume bar it should say Nav.

You can press the right hand knob to repeat a Nav instruction, then immediately turn the left volume knob to adjust the Nav volume. Saves fumbling around in the menus or waiting for the Nav to speak.

The lady on my sat nav speaks with a slight lisp!

...that's what my wife always says so I hope she doesn't read this. SatNav lady always reminds me of a BBC radio 4 announcer or school teacher you'd never this of disobeying.;o)
