Battery Cover

Featured Replies

Does any body know if its posible to retro fit the plastic cover on a cr vrs my2012 as I think the cheap fabric cover looks out of place. I know it isnt some think people see but I know its there.

I don't know for sure since there may have been changes that would preclude a retro fit. However, the old style you want is a tray, a two upright pieces consisting of a back side piece and a front piece that clip together and a top piece that hinges on the top edge of the back upright piece. Since this configuration is common across the entire VAG range for years, I would suggest a trip to a scrapper.

Ah. Thought this was a thread about a quite specific type of insurance! :)

A what?

Later ones had a fabric cover?

A what?

I'm guessing it's a battery cover.

I'd put the earlier hard plastic cover on :)

There's a fabric battery cover?!?

Surely not. I assumed this was something to do with the umbrella holderthingymajig.

I was wondering if it was insurance cover by our nocturnal friends..

If you go back to your first post and click 'edit' then click on 'Use full editor' you will be able to change it yourself  I got exactly what you meant when you posted but have no answer unfortunately, I too have one of those cheapo felt type covers on mine lol.

mine has the plastic cover.....and its a late 2012 car.

Thankyou to the mod. I dont get why some models have the plastic cover and others felt. Surely is doesnt save that much money.

I agree the felt cover looks naff. You could just ditch it and 'go naked'.

most likely the same reason some have a 60ah battery and some have 70ah.........makes no sense at all.
