What Turbo Code

Featured Replies

What turbo code do I need for a replacement on a 2.0TFSi 06 plate VRS?

Would this fit?

Mine has a hairline crack in the manifold and because of this the ECU can sense a boost leak and occasionally will place the car into limp mode, so looking to get it changed. Most seem to go for about 250 with 6 month warranty.

If its just a crack in the manifold can't you get it rewelded at a local metal fabricators. Might be worth asking about could be cheaper. If its easy to get to my mate who's a coachbuilder can weld steel and aluminium would probably do it for you assuming its not a structural fault and just a crack.

Been recommended (work inbetween 2 garages on an industrial estate - both fabricate) that it isn't worth the effort. It can be done but the price will be much the same and not certain to be a success. Plus mine has done 120K so probably about ready for a change.

Post a pic of the crack if you have one and ill ask him how much i would guess he would only charge a maximum of £50 and probably less. It would just then be a case of getting it to notts. from brum.

Haven't got a pic, it's about 10-15mm in length.

As mentioned though I don't think welding is the right way to go on this one after speaking to the 2 garages. Both of them are very trustworthy and both do all types of welding along with the engineering company 2 doors down. We work in an industrial estate where there are only 5 business's so everyone is pretty friendly so the Turbo change would be less than 100 for labour if they were fitting a new one.

Thanks for the offer though, just need to find the correct turbo now, there are so many codes!

Yes it will fit, you're engine code is BWA and the part number for a turbo for that engine is the same as what you found apart from the last letters. I've seen BWA use B and E the end letter just means it was either a later part or a revised part.

No problem although typically a business will always go for the easier option rather than the one that makes economical sense for the customer. That said they have seen the crack so its probably best to go with their advise especially if they are known trustworthy. Sorry i can't help out with the code not sure if the audi one will work or not.

P.S. If the Turbo is defunct or B.E.R any chance i could have it ;) . Iv'e got the same 2.0tfsi and if my mate can fix it, it might come in handy for a project i have in mind.
