195's on a felly?

Featured Replies

Maximum recommended tires: 175/60 R14

Maximum recommended wheels: 5.5 J x 14"

Remember that Felicia is a small family car with a low power engine.

I'm sure it could run 6j? I'll give it a go. But now atleast I know I need different tyres - cheers :)

Turns out they're 4 x 110. So I can't have them. Gutted!

4 x 114.3 mitsubishi pcd as classic s40 shares its platform with carisma

You can easily run a 6j rim. Mine currently has 6.5j rims with 195/50/15 tyres.

But i have had many different alloy and tyre combos on my felicia, biggest 17"x7j with 205/40/17 or 215/35/17 tyres. Fit fine, only run into problems if you lower the car. Just make sure the offset isnt too big, felicias is et38 standard i think.

Cheers fellas (and thanks for the correction ;) ).

Nu99et, I am thinking of lowering it 60mm too - so I may run into problems. Though, now I'm considering buying P Slots, so it should be fine as they're not wide, nor big. :)

I run golf g60 steels mainly and they are 6j, I use 195/50/15 tyres and they are fine even when it's lower than standard, they do wear heavily on the inner edges though due to the crazy camber settings on a felicia, in my opinion the speedo is actually more accurate with that tyre size as measured with a gps.

I agree with Tom re speedo, more accurate. I also run 195/50 15 on 5.5 wide bmw mini steel wheels ( centre holes enlarged by 1mm to 57mm diameter). My truck had 8.5 x 15 alloys on when I got it with the same tyres. Looked cool if thats your thing but the handling was rubbish, lots of tramlining (might just had been incorrect offset tho, dunno).

Although it must be said that it was noticeable how the extra mass of bigger wheels affected the acceleration, on my pickup I had no choice but to use bigger wheels because they had to fit over the brake discs, but other than that theres no real advantage of using wider or bigger wheels tbh, anything wider than a 185 tyre is a waste.

TehRin, if your going to lower it that much i would just make sure the wheels you get are no wider then 7j and with an offset no larger than et35.

8.5 is a pretty wide rim, and running a 195 tyre would be a considerable stretch which would be one reason for bad handling.

195/45/15 maybe the best size for a felicia i reckon.

i am running LENSO RS5's 16's with 185 50 16's 7J et40 and have no problems only 30 is 30 on speedo and even pulls with them on to running 40mm lower

my old felicia alloys where et36 still got them for some reason

my felica winter steels are a et38
