Skoda Octavia vRS 2.0 T-FSI Estate 2007/56 75k miles FSSH (Xenon's, Race Blue)

Featured Replies

With regret I am putting my Octavia up for sale, as I need a larger car with a second child on the way. I am tall and the rear legroom is a little tight for anyone who has to sit behind me. I will by buying a Superb in all probability, as I have been very impressed with the Skoda brand.

Please can we keep this thread as clean as possible and can I request that you read the full text of this advert before asking questions. I am confident any information you require will be here. Inspections by the prospective owner (or by a 3rd party specialist) are welcomed and I will try to be as accommodating as possible. However I work full time so inevitably weekends are best for me. OK, so here goes:

In Summary:

  • 1st registered on 10th January 2007 (2006 model year – green brake calipers)
  • I am the 3rd owner on the v5 (Demo plus 1 private keeper prior to me).
  • HPI clear (No accidents, no paintwork repairs, no outstanding finance, not stolen and recovered)
  • MOT until December 2013
  • Tax Until June 2013
  • No performance modifications (ever)
  • Owned by me for almost 4 years
  • Coil pack recall completed
  • Cambelt and water pump changed Dec’2010 / 54,377 miles. Due again Dec’14 or 114,377 miles
  • Under service plan, so next service (83k) is pre-paid and transferrable to the new owner
  • Only ever fuelled with super unleaded (usually V-Power or Momentum 99)

Factory Fitted Optional Extras over standard specification:

Condition Overview:

This is a 6 year old car and has wear and tear consummate with its age and mileage. That said it is in very good condition. A few chips and minor supermarket car-park inflicted marks. Stone chips to front bumper and bonnet. No dents and definitely no body work repairs or paintwork repairs. All four alloys have minor curb damage and some have bubbling around the bolt-holes.

Front brakes have squealed since the new discs and pads were fitted. I have never got around to getting this fixed. I expect it just needs a dab of copper-slip on the back of the pad.

Mechanical Overview:

No known mechanical faults or underlying issues that I am aware of. The following advisories on the last MOT certificate – I was told by the tester not to worry about any of these and that they wouldn’t need replacement anytime soon. If they had needed doing I would have had them done them – I have not scrimped on maintenance, as you can probably see from the above.

  • OSR suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement
  • Child seat fitted not allowing inspection of adult belt – obviously the belt works fine
  • Both rear suspension bump stops slightly perished
  • Both wishbone rear bushes slightly perished
  • Headlamp leveling device damaged (now repaired – see above)

Tyres are all Continental Sport Contact 5 in 225/40 18 92Y fronts have circa 5mm of tread and rears have circa 6mm of tread. All evenly worn and no saw-toothing or tracking issues.

I have receipts for almost all of the work carried out on the vehicle. The warranty work is not receipted (not given to customer), but can be checked with Skoda should you desire. I have lots of receipts for £10, which is the cost of the courtesy car when warranty work was carried out!!

I have all old MOT certificates and tax discs.

Price is £5,695 ONO, which takes into account the cost of a wheel refurb if you deem it necessary – Circa £200.

Currently the nearest comparable car is a 2006 hatch in Corrida Red with 75k miles. This is on the Skoda used car site at £6,400. So I think my price is fair given that mine is an Estate, Race Blue and has Xenon’s plus a comprehensive maintenance record and the next service is pre-paid.

Please no time wasters or dreamers. Please make sure you can actually afford the insurance on this car – mine is very cheap, but then I do have a clean license and 17 years of no claims. I pay under £300.

No test drives without full and comprehensive cover for this vehicle, otherwise I will be driving. Please don’t turn up with the old ‘yeah mate, I got fully comp cover so I can drive any car 3rd party’. This will not be acceptable – full cover for you on this car – no arguments

I am in no hurry to sell and have listed the car here first. If after a few weeks interest is limited I will list on Autotrader and/or eBay.

Pictures will follow once I have washed the snow muck off and it stops raining.

I am located near Fareham in Hampshire, close to the M27. I am happy to collect any long-distance travellers from Southampton Airport or any local train station.

Hi im' interested in your trs but can you send me some detailed photo's.

I live in Manchester so need to be fully sure before making the trip.

regards,

Mike

Hi Mike, thanks for your reply. I am unlikely to be able to get photographs until the weekend, due to the weather and work commitments. I think my description is an honest and open account of the mechanical and cosmetic condition of the car. It took me a long time to find a car to my specification and in good condition - there are a lot of dogs out there. I don't think you would be disappointed if you came to view.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that we are a non-smoking family and the car has never been smoked in (the previous keeper was also a non-smoker). We are also a dog-free family so no wet doggy smells in the boot !!

I've PM'd you mate.

Peanut,

When are you going to put some photos on the site so we can check it out.

regards,

Mike
