hi all, I have just been quoted £500 for a 40k service (an oil change with spark plugs) and DSG oil change!

a couple of questions-

1. is changing the spark plugs easy and does anyone have brand recommendations?

2. is changing the DSG oil easy? and necessary?

car is 2 years old (just) and has the 7 speed DSG, doing searches on this site I am now confused wether my car even needs DGS oil changes??

sounds abit steep to me dsg oil change is around £150 i would do it to be on the safe side but use a local garage that dose vw/skoda/seat serviceing.

Shop around. I will say that again.Shop around. My dealer seems to routinely quote double what I can get services for elsewhere. I wasn't aware the 7 speed DSG needed an oil change but last year when I had my 40K service with 6 speed DSG oil-change it cost me £355

The 7 speed DSG is sealed for life AFAIK.

No need for an oil change. Only the 6 speeds need oil changes.
