Help please with clutch replacement

Featured Replies

Having searched this forum and elsewhere, I cannot seem to find any useful advice regarding the replacement of a clutch and flywheel for a Fabia 1.9TDI (100hp). The majority of searches brings up vRS clutch replacements for those wanting to cope with extra power.

I am after advice on a decent, long-lasting replacement for my (I suspect) soon-to-be-terminal condition clutch. There is much positive comment about solid-mass/single-mass flywheels too, which appeals. As I am no mechanic, the work would be done by my trusty mechanics, but they may not be up-to-speed with this sort of thing (I do not know, but don't want to go in blind).

Thanks

Has the genuine clutch and DMF not lasted well enough for you to consider fitting another one?

Is it a standard car ? Just replace with a standard part

The thought about replacing it with the same had occurred - it has done 87.5k miles, after all!

Valeo do a kit incl SMF for around £350 obviously fitting price not included.

He could drive to Unit 18 , get it done proper and get change for that . They did mine for a lot less than the parts ( Neved said thanks Ali) .No need for the flywheel,. AFAIK, if the gearbox is a five speed one it's a normal flywheel .
