I've been having naughty thoughts :/

Featured Replies

Hey everyone :)

Having recently had my fabia (BLT Engine) fitted with a hybrid pd150, fmic and pd160 intake I'm currently thinking of selling up to follow my 4x4 cravings :/ lol mite seem very stupid but it seems better to spend the money I would on the clutch on a 4x4 instead :)

The clutch and flywheel are in need of changing to pursue a bit more power but I don't really want to spend in the region of £1000 on them :/ what sort of power can I run with a hybrid pd150 and what sort of money am I going to be looking at spending on a clutch and flywheel that can cope with the achievable power?

Also, how durable are the gearboxes? Don't really fancy forking out for one of those anytime soon....

Depending on what the achievable power is and what is a safe power to run without compromising the engine or gearbox under heavy driving I will have to make a decision :/

Thanks in advance for any replies,

Sorry in advance if I'm boring anyone :giggle

As far as power is concerned, if your current clutch & flywheel are in half decent condition then as long as you don't go too crazy on the torque levels 200bhp should be ok.

I'll leave the clutch choice suggestions to people with experience of each clutch.

all depends what 4x4 you want.

Get a stage 3 paddle clutch from cg motors ment be good for 400 torque and hybrid pd150 you should be looking at 220-230 bhp and 320-360 torque

Thanks very much...

Joe, I'd be doing up a 3.0 Izuzu trooper that's been sitting for a few years, runs perfectly just needs new tyres, fan belt, and brakes... and I'd be having it as a playing machine :) really not site what to do yet though :/ thanks anyway guys

LOL!

im a suzuki man myself and have owned and modified a few. i couldnt part with a fabia for a trooper myself, maybe something abit i could justify it or a monster of a defender but thats just me. if it frees some cash up and you know the trooper engine is good and wont need money thrown at that aswell then go for it and have more fun than you can have in the fabia ;) .

Damn i miss off roading.....must stay away from pistonheads, i must!

Not seriously considering selling the vrs for a 4x4 are you?

Get your fabia mapped. Hybrid pd150 mapped right is a hoot on the road! I had mine mapped by dirty torque developments last night and woah, Silly fast. Also pops and bangs when you hit the limiter, get it done! You wont regret it.

4x4 are boring in the summer.....

All my work was done by them, it's been mapped mate, it's pretty rapid :) what car have you got then? Never heard of a diesel popping and banging :p :giggle nah, 4x4 is always fun :)

Ye the trooper engine is mint :) but it would only be to free up the money that the fabia is worth and then make some money on te trooper to eventually buy a defender :) not sure what to do atm (i know I'll miss the handling and speed but head is spinning trying to think of what to do :/

Well if that's the case , i may be interested in the fabia, depending on price that is ;)

Loads of issues with CG clutches

Stick with a decent make!

Helix organic and single mass flywheel! Around £900!

Awesome piece of kit and i couldnt even kill it which means its good :)

Will deffo take that into account mate, thanks for the heads up :) is there a chattering sound with the single mass flywheel?

I've just been quoted £890 fitted for a up rated Sachs clutch with DMF....

Will cope with 375 lbft

Best to bin the dual mass flywheel if seeking big power.

I originally had the sachs and dmf but the flywheel only lasted 20k and that was at a measly 195bhp

All single mass flywheels chatter :) but it doesnt bother me. Put foot on clutch and voila. Noise is gone

Where's that mate? How much for the clutch and flywheel without fitting?

Ohhh :/ ideally I'd be looking at around 220 if I was to keep it and get it done :) by the sounds of it a single mass will have to be the choice but going to research both dmf and smf first :) where's best to get the helix kit mate?

J.E

Best and cheapest place for the helix is mardi gras motorsport!

They are the main uk helix dealers :)

Phone up and haggle on price ;)

And look at it. Its clutch porn
