Use it or lose it

Featured Replies

Hola.

I bought used coilovers (V-MAXX) for a very good price.

So now the other day when i was doing some small maintenance before installation i recognized a small dent on the "sliding pipe".

SEE PIC !!

So now the question is, can i use these or should i just get rid of them.

When i pressed the damper all the way to the bottom, there came a little of oil out.

BUT the dent is quite high so does it affect at all/does it slide that deep.

Sorry for the bad explanation, hopefully someone understood and can help me.

I expect a small dent there will be perfectly fine and nothing to worry about since its well outside the operating range of the shock absorber.

Looks like sum1 has gripped it with mole grips to crack the top nut off..

Shud b fine as its so high it will never drop below the seal..

as above aslong as it doesnt keep passing over the seal it will be fine ... if it keeps passing over the seal it will destroy it and the oil will leak out of the shocker
