lowering springs v warranty.

Featured Replies

hi folks got a couple of questions for you. 1/ if i fit lowering springs to my fabia 2 does this kill my warranty.? 2/ im looking to fit lowering springs (40 mm drop) im running on 16s 205 45 tyres can anybody give me advice on the springs they have used and pics would be great if possible. i cannout afford shock and spring setup at the minute and i would be happy enough with just springs as they are more for the look of the car as im not planning to go rallying through the forest . :giggle: thanks guys.

It will kill the warranty for the springs and possibly anything that works with them but it's at a dealers discretion. Remember a dealer will get paid quite a bit to do warranty work so if they can pass it through they will.

I used H&R 40mm springs on my old vRS

of course you could go to skoda and get the "approved" eibach springs, they lower less than what you are after , but your warrenty will be intact on everything, but just 12 months on the springs themselves...

I have lowered most of my previous vehicles and nothing has gone wrong suspension related. I would just suggest to go with a well respected brand and not cheap springs.

I am looking at a set of H+R springs for my Monte Carlo later this year, I can't see them affecting any other part of the suspension.

Exactly what I was going to ask!

Just as a comparison mine is on eibach springs which i had fitted by a specialist

As for the wind deflectors , like VRS powered I like them and think they look great , as for water it rarely dares to stay on my car for long due to the wax but cant say ive noticed water being an issue on either mirror

, only downside is they are a bit noiser than without

What's the damage for the vag springs (fitted)?

Ta

Think the springs are £200 or thereabouts and perhaps 1.5 hours fitting so should get change from £400 inc alignment
