First service cost, variable, 140tdi.

Featured Replies

My first service will be due in the next couple of months. I know the Skoda fixed price tarriff is for fixed interval cars. Mine's on the variable regime, so what kind of price should I be expecting from my Skoda dealer? Might go to my local independent VAG expert if it's a silly price.

Thanks, Stuart

well mine is 1.6 tdi S spec and i was given service price sheet when i picked it up last month Brand new and mine is also on Variable and the 1st service is £120 but i get a discount cause i'm a taxi driver but there is tons of taxis in the dealer waiting to get serviced my dealer is Henrys Skoda Glasgow but i'm closer to Parks Skoda Hamilton but the service there is rubbish and henrys is top notch

I asked this question at my dealer last week and was told no more than £170 for first service on variable.

I also asked about cambelt change intervals out of interest. They need changing at 140k or 4 years whichever is sooner on the 1600 but it varies on the other engine sizes. The 1600 TDi also has a diesel pump drive belt at 140k or 4 years.

Both those figure are quite encouraging. Remembering 3,000 mile services (complete with a list of nipples to be greased) 40 years ago, I find it hard to get my head round a sub-£200 bill after 18,000 miles and two years. Thanks.

I should have added the Dealers caveat for the approx. £170 - "assuming that it doesn't need brakes". I know mine won't be worn by then, but I know that when my family had a garage that some of our customers could get through front brakes at almost unfeasibly low mileages.

Did 56k miles on my Roomster, expecting to need new pads for the last couple of years, but at last MOT were still only 2/3 worn!
