Octavia vRS TSI induction kit. Which one to buy?

Featured Replies

Evening all, sorry to ask this question, but I am looking into buying a induction kit for my octavia vRS to compliment the next stage to my remap, S3 intercooler, TBE milltek which are all getting fitted this friday, but which kit do I go for?? It's a mine field so hopefully with your help I can choose the right one with the best gains for my money.

If you could let me know what you have fitted to your TSI and what sort of gains you got or not would be appreciated. Or do I save my money and not bother? Already have a k&n panel filter fitted.

I'm not to worried about the induction roar some produce its just maximum gains which compliments my other modifications I'm after. ;)

Thanks once again.

Aidy.

I have one from awesome gti...jonno vrs had pictures, link and fitting details on a post last year its carbon unit with piper cross filter. It was on offer looks good but as for any gains over my itg panel filter not sure but does sound very discreetly better.

I have the carbonspeed intake with pipercross filter. Isn't overly loud compared to an open filter. Personally I prefer it as it doesn't sound too boy racer lol. Car does seem to pick up a bit better but wouldn't say you would get a massive power gain from any of these kits. I'm thinking of selling mine as I originally got it with a view to eventually going to stage2 but have decided to stick to stage 1 and not spend any more on it. Looking for £130....cost £225 new.

If you want looks and sound go for a quality pod filter if you want performance stick with O.E.M !

Performaance Upgrade ? Not at all after market panel and pod filters generally decrease performance take it to a rolling road and try it ....

Every rolling road will give you different figures as well. I measured that the intake gave 8g/s more airflow plus felt slightly more responsive. Agree that they don't provide a huge gain but to say they all decrease performance is rather untrue. Depends how much your going to modifiy the car as well

This is the one i have :http://www.carbonspeed.co.uk/product_cs.vw.05.asp . Does look a lot neater in the engine bay than the OE airbox

I have the Neuspeed fitted to mine. Top end has definitely improved - No longer feels strangled.

Sounds amazing with a stage 1 map. Heatsoak has not been an issue, even in heavy stop start traffic.

These kits do work. All you need to see is the difference in pipe size entering the turbo between the Neuspeed and stock intake.
