Fabia vrs Symphony

Featured Replies

I am a bit fed up with the Radio reception on the standard unit. It is absolutely rubbish and wont hold a signal half the time. Now, I have read lots of threads on here but nothing really helps. If I get Skoda to change the head unit (it also turns itself off when I change preset channels) is it likely to improve or is this just usual for these units ? If so, is there anything I can do and would a new head unit from Pioneer or Alpine etc be any better ?

I removed the standard Fabia VRS head unit and replaced it with a Clarion DXZ648RMP cd/mp3 player. The radio reception and sound quality have vastly improved so I would say its a no brainer to put a good quality aftermarket head unit in.

I am not saying Clarion is the best make by any means I just liked the sound quality.

Very helpful people and good prices here...http://www.mcs-direct.co.uk/index.html

All you need to finish the job is a trim plate to cover the gap above the new head unit in the dash this costs

Not had that much trouble with it, tbh. Only problem is the TA is very, very sensitive.
