Need electric fuel pump for 135 GLi

Featured Replies

Hello,

I own a 1989 Skoda 135 GLi, essentially a fuel-injected estelle sold in Finland, Austria and Canada (of all places). I initially posted this message in the RWD section and was told to ask my question here.

I need to find a new electric fuel pump. The one currently installed is a Walbro 5611 mds23988-1. I simply cannot find this part anywhere and Walbro has done a great deal of work to help me find one to no avail.

From my understanding, I should be able to fit a first-generation Skoda Favorit electric fuel pump on my 135 GLi. What is the part number? Or perhaps, what are aftermarket equivalents I can get? Alternatively, what specifications do I need to look for in order to source a universal pump locally? I have no specific numbers for fuel rate, pressure etc. to base any research on.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, not much help re the fuel pump but just had to say "love the Niva". I used to have one. Still miss it.

Good luck with the pump.

It turns out the Favorit used a different electric fuel pump on the injection model.
