Lost a cover from the tailgate wiper on my 2013 Yeti

Featured Replies

Hi,

My 2013 Yeti has lost a cover from the tailgate wiper. Can anyone give me a clue as to:

1) what it is called and

2) roughly how much a new one is?

Hopefully, the pic will work:

Any help appreciated.

Steve

Somebody else had the same problem a few months ago.

I seem to remember the part is quite cheap from Skoda.

Mine came off when sweeping snow off the car. Had to wait until it melted to find it. Clips back on easily enough, but isn't very firmly attached.

plenty on Ebay too....http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=skoda+wiper+cap&_sop=15

My local dealer charged £10 for the cap and wiper jet.

Be very careful that the wiper jet doesn't get damaged whilst exposed. Without the cover it is very vulnerable and if it brakes off in the housing and the bit left in the boss can't be extracted, a whole replacement motor unit is required- as my dealer found out when a mechanic snagged his overalls on mine when it was in for service!

Thanks to all for your responses. I actually went back out to the car park where I last saw the cover and found it. I'm not sure if it had been deliberately removed or accidentally caught - I nearly pulled the thing off with my jacket so it appears to be easily done.

Might order a spare just to be safe.

Thanks again,

Steve
