Every other comment on Skoda's Facebook page says the Spaceback looks like an A3, I would take that as a compliment though!

actually :( , that glass tailgate doesn't seem to go that well in that pic, for me. Looks a little out of place but then i've never been a fan of having different sections of a car being a different colour

I don't think the unusual lighting arrangement helps. It's a pretty crap photo actually, the front section of the car is completely overexposed. Maybe done deliberately to be "arty".

One thing I've noticed is that all the official photos show the cars fitted with projector headlights -I did think it was a bit 'low rent' when I first saw the new Octavia and Rapid with reflector headlights (at least you can order xenons on the Octavia). Does this mean that the Spaceback will get projectors as standard and will this transfer over to the regular Rapid as well?

Fabia 3 will still be smaller than this and also on MQB so it will have it's own raison d'etre.

I do like this well trimmed sportback. Very nice esthetics and it seems I'm still hooked on black wheels

In fact the one I posted above seems to be a production Sport version.. just it's not been announced on the market yet. They did exactly the same with the Citigo Sport which was at a motorshow long before it was on sale. It does look a very smart car. It still seems bizarre to me that the car which is shaped more like an estate has a smaller loading space but hey, it's still plenty big enough when compared to other cars of a similar size/price!

front lip, side skirts and rear diffusor in glossy black look awesome!!!

looking forward to having them available as after market parts.

black front grille also looks great and i can confirm it as i have already done this mod to my Rapid. it makes the car look much more aggressive.

Looking through the detailed specs I see that all versions apart from the 1.4 TSi DSG have to make do with rear drum brakes, which seems like penny-pinching when Ibiza FRs with the 105 PS petrol and diesel engines get discs all round.

Presumably the Rapid notchback is the same but I've never looked through that in quite so much detail.
