I am about to order a fixed swan neck tow bar for the back of my yeti but have been advised it may be picked up by the parking sensors. I could of course order a removable towbar - but I personally prefer the fixed version.

I was told the same thing when I had a fixed tow bar on the back of my Fabia 3 estate - but in reality it caused no problems and the sensors continued to work perfectly.

Rather than guess, I thought I would just ask those of you who already have a towbar on the back of a Yeti if it caused problems with the parking sensors when not towing ?

Having both a fixed and removable towbar on my Yeti's I can confirm that it did not cause any problems with the parking sensors.

Same here.

I leave my detachable one in all the time, it's never been picked up by the sensors.

As there are four sensors and the tow bar is slap bang in middle between two, close to the car, it's out of the arcs they can see.

As above. No problems with it being sensed.

Likewise here. My removable swan lives permanently on the car and the sensors don't pick it up.

And again, removable bar fitted (had asked for fixed) but never removed, no problems with the sensors.

Same here - just remember if you have the towbar mounted - you have a smaller safe zone after the parking sensors go red !
