Thankyou Skoda

Featured Replies

After being hit with the dreaded ESP warning light on and my reader showing 'G201 sensor failure' on my octy I thought I was going to have to dig deep into my pocket for some serious cash. Finally took it in to Skoda services who, after checking my service history, contacted Skoda who paid for the whole job. Not bad for a SEVEN year old car! I do'nt think they would have done this without a good service history and low mileage (only 42000 miles) but they have certainly guaranteed that it will be another Octy when the old girl is replaced.

Can't beat good service

That is most excellent. Well done.

Good to know!

Nice to hear that they gave a 100% goodwill on this issue.

Excellent!

It is nice to hear good news about Skoda & customer service. I think that we are all quick to moan about what we perceive to be bad or inferior service (me included), but sometimes forget about the good bits. I know that after an initially shaky start with my dealer they have started to win back some trust from me with their service etc.

I have recently had an EGR problem - 2010 L&K with 80k on the clock.

I purchased a 3rd party warranty as at the time Skoda did not have a decent extended warranty.

the bill for my car was just over £700 and my warranyt only covered £400.

after two weeks Skoda have agreed to pay the difference.

I think that this is also really good customer service - and the dealer was brilliant as well.

Up for a major spend on maintenance this year. Was thinking maybe get an independant or a friends son-in-law, who is a VW master tech, to do it on the side. Having seen that Skoda will now pay up 100% for G201 repairs I'm thinking maybe stay with them. maybe I could get a new Octavia as courtesy car whilst it is being done!!

Why has Skoda sent me a card promising £129 for a minor (oil) service when every variable service has cost at least £200+ since 2008? Interesting to see what the actual quote will be. don't quite believe the line that dealer history will hold its second-hand price, well not on a 6 year old car. Still good news for the OP on the G201 resolution.

I called Skoda on the last day of warranty and left a message that I had issues with the car. They called me back the next day. After a few days of them investigating and speaking to the dealer, they came back to me and basically said its out of warranty and everything is chargable. The thing is, some of the issues (seat bolster etc.) were things that the dealer had worked on and couldnt fix properly.

Not impressed.

I'm sure the warranty simply states that it must be reported to them within the warranty period, rather than reported & fully investigated? Have a look over the terms of the warranty, and the phone your car/house/breakdown insurance legal assistance line to see where you stand as the warranty is an enforceable contract (they may be able to give you a few key phrases to use) ...

This. Its basically a latent defect. As long as its reported within the warranty period it dosnt matter if it takes another 3 years for them to sort it it will be covered.
