First service costs

Featured Replies

Just spoke to the dealers to have a few small issues looked at (2012 Octavia vRS diesel). I also wanted an oil change, just a minor service as my car on the variable plan, but it has just gone over 10k miles. They advised it'll be £198 for this, is that correct? If so I'll just do it myself.

I trust that your small issues will be covered by warranty?

I paid around £200 for a 2 year, 2 service plan so £198 for 1 oil and filter service is extortionate!

Have a look there for oil servicing. It came out at £98 for my petrol VRS. National Tyres want £38.80 and use Castrol Edge oil. My local National Tyres is excellent. Others, not so if you listen to others on here.

€109 for my first service on my last cr170 octy

Am I correct in thinking this is what it should cost?

Edit: Just seen this is for Fixed customers only. I'll just do the oil change myself :)

Hope so, just the squeaking seat, and the belt that makes squeaking noises on start up every now and then. Nothing major but in today, so will see what they say later on.

Its so easy to do yourself, i'm picking up a new jack this weekend and doing mine next week.

Plus at least you know its done right. :)

Here is a rough guide, just mind fil the oil filter with a little oil

I'm not paying that for an oil change, doing it myself instead lol. I have no issues with doing it at all, always used to do it on my older cars but was after a stamp in the book :)

Thanks for the link though mate.

Just gone in for the issues to be looked at, will be doing all the other bits next week when I'm off work

Had my first service on the variable plan at around 13000 miles, cost was £149 - courtesy car wqas FOC and insurance was theirs. Car went in a week later for some items they discovered at the service, replaced under warranty - courtesy car again was FOC. So far so good!
