Octy 4x4 from Aberdeenshire

Featured Replies

Hi all

Just picked up a 53 plate Mk1 Octavia 1.8T 4x4 hatch for much cheapness! 102k on the clock, MOTd til August.

I'm from Aberdeenshire and the Haldex has proved its worth already haha.

Didn't realise until now that I seem to have bought quite a rare car.

It has a couple of issues I'll need to sort no doubt with help from some of you, but overall it's the best £600 I've spent on a car.

Welcome to Briskoda. :) I owned a 2002 Octavia 1.8T 4x4 Estate for over 8 years and was very impressed with how capable the car is. Enjoy!

You had a bargain there!

Think it might have been mapped previously. It's a lot quicker than I was expecting 150 bhp/1500 kg to be, and I've had my fair share of quick cars. Pulls well all the way to 7000, was expecting it to be all out by 5000 or so. It even makes turbo noises despite not being able to find any boost leaks. Mate has a 1.8t A3 which doesn't really make much noise, my car makes lots of noises and almost convincingly dumps all the boost off the throttle too.

40 mpg @ 70 mph is a nice change to what I'm used to as well haha!
