Hi guys I'm new to this forum, I own a octy 1.8t 4x4 my back box bracket has broke off, so I was just wondering could I get a performance octy vrs cat back to fit on my 4x4? As I cannot find many part for the 4x4 are these cars rare? Thanks

the floor pan on the 4x4 is different to the vrs, so it wont likely be a direct fit, it will need modification and is probably not worth spending the cash on.

Get the backbox bracket welded?

would be cheaper?

or a new backox made up from an exhaust specialist?

Best option is get someone to weld a bracket back on HOWEVER if you want to modify then a Stainless fabricator such as "ProSpeed" of Cardiff (no I am not on commission although I am sure Charlie would knock something off for the number of people I have sent his way :D) would be the best bet as they shape it to the car. You should be able to get turbo back for around £500 and the downpipe is the most restrictive bit as the 4x4 has the twin Cat set-up like an Audi S3 or TT225. I have to admit it has been high on my shopping list for a long time now and I might actually get around to it this year :D

Thanks for all the comments, I've got a red 2002 4x4 hatch.. Got all vrs interia gonna make it vrs outside soon... So hopefully a vrs 4x4 ;) I have had it remapped its running 224bhp ko3s, I'm looking to big turbo it eventually what is the best route?

you will attract less attention from the police if you keep the 4x4 looks, Sleeper is the way :D I have taken mine to the other extreme though as it is looking more like a taxi all the time, Mudflaps removed, 15" alloys with 195/65 winter tyres grill block etc but I am aiming for 100MPG one day (its on LPG as well) hoping this year to get twin inter-coolers fitted (only had them for 18 months now) as well as turbo back custom exhaust and stage 2 :D

BT not necessarily the way to go, lots have gone the hybrid route, the important question is how deep are your pockets? I am sure Clive (CNTuning) would be able to help you spend your money though :p the list of things to do before going BT or Hybrid is around on the forum somewhere but it covers the usual stuff like Brakes, DV, fix the hundreds of small pipes that leak boost and /or VAC, shocks/springs or coilovers, lots of good examples about and I think snowmunchers is one of the higher powered ones on here at the momment.
