New windscreen fitted - loose ticket clip

Featured Replies

Award for smallest issue ever here.........

Just had a new screen fitted by Autoglass. Same Pilkington item as before, but instead of a grey tint top it's got a green one. I prefer the green!

All seems okay so far, but the parking ticket clip now sits off the screen, so it won't hold a ticket tightly. Anyone else had this?

Guessing I can just pop off the A-pillar trim and adjust the clip (held on with a screw or clip?)?

Not removed A-pillar trim before, so where do I pull to pop it off?

Dunno, but mine is the same..... (one windscreen number 3 at the moment). My BlackVue is arriving shortly so I will have to pop that trim cover off shortly again.

Looks like a torx screw (just at the top of the picture):

Yeah pop off a piller and try and tighten it down

Might be to no avail though as windscreen may sit farther out than original

If the screen is further out, some packers to the rear the clip might do the trick.

Possibly have to drill another fixing hole in the clip... Packers will just bring the clip further away from the screen by looking at that picture

Mines the same one the third screen here, I usually stuff some thick card behind it and things generally stay in place, well for a while! Bloody nuisance really.

Thanks guys. Nice to hear I'm not the only one left with a baggy clip!

By the look of Matt's photo you can just slot the hole in the plastic clip with a small file, then adjust it up to the screen. Excellent.

I've never had a new screen before so this clarity is a novelty for me!

Does that A-pillar trim pop off easily? Anyone know where it clips in, so I know where to pull? Merci.

It has a couple of clips in it, start at the top and pull it...

I have had mine off on both sides before.

Two of the lower clips can be seen in this picture (the white bits):

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm having my windscreen replaced today as it got a 12" crack from somewhere (pot hole when cold, or after having the pollen filter replaced).
