Ignition Illumination for key?

Featured Replies

Hi,

May be a dumb question and I have searched but cannot find an answer. Should there be any illumination around the key hole for the ignition? My Forester does and as I am not used to the Skoda yet I end up messing around trying to get the key in. Should there be any illumination around the key hole?

Ben

dont think so. My vrs doesnt.

I had it in my old civic vti-s and was very handy

Easiest way I find is put key in with door open so interior lights on.

I am sure I have a red light around the ignition. Will have to check this and come back to you.

Cheers guys. I'm sure it wont take long to get used to it anyhow.

Didnt the L&K have it?

My 2006 L&K doesn't have it.

Maybe later models do?

not available, not even in vw

Mine doesn't. To be honest, I've always been in the habit of having my fingertips running alongside and just in front of the key so i can feel wherever it's meant to be going on the car. Just stops me scratching paint or anything.

When I was younger my friend had a Toyota Celica and it had an ilumination ring around key(from factory) , looked great and a must.

Can't see the point TBH - due to where it is you can't exactly see it anyway. I don't think I've ever looked - just get in and slot it in as you kinda know where it is by instinct.

I suppose it might be different if you've only just got the car, drive other cars a lot, or don't do many miles though.

I think it would be a good thing to have. If anyone's retrofitted it, it would be great to have a 'how to' posted here.
