Fabia VRS depreciation

Featured Replies

Im looking at getting a Fabia VRS but im not sure what to do for value for money.

What are the residuals looking like on them for 3 or 4 years down the line?

Am I better off buying new or Nearly new from dealer or Private?

Cheers

don't think they've been out for 3 or 4 years yet!

I mean what are they expecting them to be worth in that many years time if you do average milage?

Less 25% first year, after that every year 10%. At least that's how it's done here.

How do you spell "plummet"? Anyone? :D

well they are selling them with 22k on for 10500 so they aint dropping thast much

Are they selling for that much, or is that how much dealers are asking for them before you go in and negotiate

thats the same sort of price I have seen them for, but none of the black ones are down south!!! Will Skoda ship one to another dealier if your interested?

think so, although you'll probably find prices are cheaper up north...

Where are you looking for one?

Many dealers will give you around 8% off a new one perhaps more if you really push.

11k pre reg no miles on the internet, quite a few forums about it recently.

As for depreciation on the model, i think its quite good at the moment as the fabia range isnt being churned out by dealers at low cost prices, this may happen when the car gets to the end of its saleability lifespan or as a new model is itroduced at this point expect prices to drop.

as with all cars new model means the old one is worth less.

Stealer offered

Imagine it's worth 4k max in 3 years/60k miles. My guestimate is that it will be lower...

Basically value-wise it's a write-off in 3..5 years tops, although you may be able to flog it privately at some reasonable price. Who knows :D

My story is bought Fab vRS last April 04 (Dec 03 reg) - bought for

Most of the price guide sites are giving residual values of around 51% at 3yrs/36k. Which is comparable to the Ibiza TDI Sport etc. When I went looking most of the used early vRS' were still being stickered up by dealers at 10.5k. I didn't particularly fancy making a 1.5-2k saving on an 18month old thrashed dealer demo that was looking a tad ro ughround the edges, so coughed up the extra and went new when offered a decent trade in against the Bora.

I thought the same question when I was looking for mine. Do a search for 'depreciation' in the Fabia section, you should find my post, complete with graphs

For info, I bought private in January, black with no options and 6k on the clock, private for

58% retained after 3 years (Auto Express) One of the best on the market !!

Some dealers are selling brand spankers for less than that.

Bought before Xmas and two dealers (one in Hmapshire & the other in Dorset) were not interested in doing any deals. Now, the situation could have changed but i know the local dealer to me is still knocking second hand ones out for between 10500-10995! So there you have it.

Personally i reckon 4500 in three years is a little low, reckon Parker's are just guestimating!
